TALLYWACKER Premiere!
Sorry to bother you twice in one day but I’ve got news! I’m going to break the usual format of this space with an announcement I’ve been sitting on and I can’t wait to get it out. It is bursting out of my innards. Bursting I say!
If you’re reading this, you probably know that I am a filmmaker. You might even know I was back in my ancestral stomping grounds of Massachusetts this time last year shooting a feature film called TALLYWACKER. Maybe you even know that we have spent the last year toiling away in post-production getting the movie juuuuuust right.
Well, now is time for you to see the fruit of our labor: TALLYWACKER has its world premiere on Sunday December 3rd at 4pm at Regal Cinema Union Square as part of Dances With Films: NY!
True Brendophiles and stalkers may remember that my last film THE SYMPATHY CARD also made its world premiere at Dances with Films, the Los Angeles edition in 2019. I love the DWF folks and am thrilled to be joining them for the 2nd New York edition.
If you CAN make it to the NY premiere: I highly suggest you get your tickets as soon as possible. This is highly likely to sell out. Since this is a film festival, I have no power to get you into the screening if you don’t have a ticket. So even if you’re MAYBE going to come, we would recommend getting tickets in advance at this link: TICKET LINK
If you CAN’T make it to the NY premiere: I will miss you! I hope to have a festival screening near you soon wherever you are! In the meantime, if you could help us spread the word by sharing the above image on social media, that would be huge! We are a tiny budget operation with no money for publicists or advertising campaigns, so word of mouth is our only way to get the word out. This is a movie that we think more people should see, so any help you could give us with that would be most appreciated. Also feel free to not help! I’m not the boss of you!
I’m not going to lie - I’m going to be talking about the journey of this film in this space a lot. I don’t want to get too ‘self promotey’ because I know how grating that can be. I will of course be writing about other things, but I try my best to share myself with you and this movie is a big part of who I am. I’m also hoping to share not just my experience, but also some of the amazing people who helped make this movie a reality. So if you get sick of hearing about adventures in indie filmmaking and festival hijinx, just let me know and I’ll write you a dirty limerick or something. Until then, I’ll see you…. at the movies!
